The Role:
This is located in North Dakota
12 month contract

The primary role of the EHS Drilling and Completions Specialist is to provide EHS support to Operations Department on all Operations and Production locations. The EHS Drilling and Completions Specialist will liaison with Operations and Production Management (to include local Wellsite Supervisors) in the daily performance of his/her duties. The ability to develop relationships and communicate in a complex, multi-tiered environment is a key attribute. An in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and Our client policies is requisite to the success of the EHS Drilling and Completions Specialist.
Main Objectives / Principal Accountabilities
* Visible leader of safe operations
* Support Drilling and Completions Supervisors on locations with all EHS needs
* Facilitate implementation of Our client EHS management System and EHS procedures
* Ensure compliance of all local, state, and Federal regulations
* Monitor ongoing drilling and completions operations to ensure EHS expectations are being met
* Facilitate and participate in pre-job JSA discussions and conduct hazard observations during work
* Coach all personnel on location on use of STOP work authority
* Provide onsite EHS training, coaching, mentoring
* Provide visible EHS support to North Dakota Drilling and Completions group; including drilling operations, fracture stimulation, flowback, workover rig, fluid hauling/heating and coiled tubing operations
* Conduct site visits to establish and build a working relationship with the workforce to communicate and assist the workforce in recognizing and minimizing potential hazards
* Assist with the continued development and implementation of Our client EHS Policies and Procedures, EHS Training Programs and Emergency and Medical Response Procedures to ensure that the highest level of compliance and readiness is achieved
* Facilitate and perform EHS reviews of new and existing contractors to ensure they meet Our client Contractor Requirements
* Provide Synergi oversight and monitor cases to ensure incidents are adequately investigated and that corrective actions are implemented and completed
* Serve as a member of the incident investigation team to assist with incident investigations as directed
* Promote collaboration between Our client, contractors, & service partners to achieve positive behaviors and a safe work environment
* Participate in Drilling and Completions safety meetings (SQDC meetings, Safety Steering Team Meetings, etc.)
Key Roles and Responsibilities

* Monitor ongoing Drilling and Completions operations to ensure EHS expectations are consistently met during work activity.
* Perform audits and inspections to identify potential/existing hazards and deficiencies.
* Monitor the contractor's EHS Systems to ensure that work processes are conducted consistent with both the contractor's and Our client' expectations of the Management Systems.
* Provide support for Our client emergency response activities including training, drills, and incident response.
* Participate and/or facilitate in incident investigation and root cause analysis (TapRoot®), when required.
* Responsible for the submittal of information and documentation into the Synergi data base and follow up on all Action Items to closure.
* Provide onsite EHS training and coaching.
* Attend and participate in all Drilling Completions safety meetings, where practical, ensuring safety topics are discussed and Third-Party personnel are participating.
* Coach all Our client, contractor, and third-party personnel on the proper use and participation in Behavioral Based Safety Programs.
* Champion any Our client safety related programs and initiatives.
* Ensure Action Items from Synergi, daily inspections, audits, and Hazard Observation/Near Miss cards are tracked appropriately and closed in a timely manner.
* Engage Drilling and Completions management team to encourage a positive safety culture through Stop Work Authority, hazard identification and reporting, productive safety meetings, and incident reporting and investigation.
* Promote collaboration between Our client, and the Drilling and Completions contractor teams, to achieve positive behaviors and a safe working environment.
* Be a visible first point of contact to all visiting Drilling and Completions contractors ensuring an effective site orientation and contractor engagement is conducted.
* Monitor Drilling and Completions location housekeeping and take corrective actions necessary to maintain a safe and uncluttered work environment.
* Ensure proper permitting of jobs performed on location.
* Be present and participate in all pre-job meetings of high risk activities. These include but are not limited to:
 Rig up and rig down for all Drilling and Completions operations
 Pressure testing high pressured hard lines
 High pressure fluid pumping during Fracture Stimulation
 Heavy vehicle traffic on Drilling and Completions locations
 Personnel hoisting in the manlift, (first ensuring operators are certified to use the manlift)
 Hoisting and rig up of wireline lubricators
 All mechanical maintenance on fluid and/or nitrogen pumps
 All Contractor High Risk JSAs.
 Flowing back the well in the event of a screen out
 All lifting and hoisting operations on Drilling and Completions locations

Experience & Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED
* Prior experience supporting Drilling and Completions operations as a safety professional. Relevant and demonstrated experience may be substituted lieu of this requirement.
* Experience in incident investigation and action development; Ability to write correspondence and reports
* Prior experience in a field requiring persuasive communication skills
* Associate Safety Professional or Certified Safety Professional certification. Relevant and demonstrated experience may be substituted lieu of this requirement.
* OSHA-10 Certification (General Industry or Construction)
* Knowledge of Our client' Safety management System and Incident Reporting System is desired.
* Successfully pass all other training requirements as assigned by job role in Our client' Learning Management System
* Skilled application of Standard Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures, and Global Standards
